I really like James MacDonald preaching, but I just couldn't get into this book. I found it hard to follow and a bit of a mess. I often finished a chapter and wondered what the point was. I just didn't get it.

I bought this book for my husband. He loves it, when he reads it he laughs, crys and tells me what a awesome book!! I would recommend it for all the men out there.

One of the best books I've ever read. Men are falling down and losing their manhood! This is why Paul said stand up and act like men!

Want to act like a true man after God's image? Look no further than "Act Like Men" by James MacDonald. This is a great study for men who want to be better husbands and true men of God. It tackles issues that we struggle with the most and some that men would rather keep swept under the rug. This book allowed a large group of men at my church to grow together, and learn that we are not in this fight alone. I recommend this book to any man that wants to tackle hard issues in their life and build the kingdom of God.

I read this book every evening. However, there were two major flaws with my approach: I didn't take any notes and I didn't read it with anybody. In my opinion, this book is meant to be read within the context of an accountability group or some small group of guys. There are questions at the end of each chapter with practical applications to each person that reads it. Please, if you're gonna buy it, text a group of guys from your church or something and go through it together. I firmly believe you'll get waaay more out of it this way than reading alone. It's good if reading it by yourself; I believe it has the potential to be life-altering if read and discussed in a close group.

This book maybe great for someone who’s at the beginning of their spiritual growth & not versed in the Bible. The book lacks depth & isn’t for those who are more advanced in their study. I expected more.

Husband has anxiety issues and can be impatient. He has read this book slowly and is going through it for the second time. He watches James McDonald every day and I can honestly say this book has made a difference. He still gets impatient, but is more aware of it now and tries quickly to correct the situation and apologise.

Haven't finished it yet but if you feel lost and like everything is your fault because you're angry or whatever then read this book. Each section is taking like 30 minutes for me even they are only 5-7 page sections.

We are going through this as a small men's group study and love it. Non-condescending and deep enough to bring new revelation. I know there is a shortage of NON-DVD material out there so if you want a book only study, I suggest Act Like Men.

Quick Summary: Great resource if you're planning an in-depth stay in Thailand for a longer period, but not necessary for a short tourist visitI read Culture Smart!-Thailand before a three-month stay, during which I would be working in both rural and urban areas. The material in the book helped me feel more comfortable and confident before going, but once I was there I hardly touched the book. In urban areas especially, Thai services and people are very accommodating to western culture, and English is commonly used. As a tourist, you can get by with a very limited amount of prior knowledge of Thai culture and customs (although I am not encouraging this), and you can find enough tips about customs, food, and transportation using quick online searches.For those looking to stay long-term, form relationships with the people, or work in the country, I would highly recommend this book. Nothing can fully prepare you for what you'll experience in a different culture, but reading through this book certainly helped me feel prepared. In particular, I found the sections on the history and politics, the royal family, and the values and attitudes of the people to be useful when I was in the country. Also, the chapter on communication, paired with Learn Thai language learning app on my phone, helped me learn several key phrases. Speaking even just a little Thai seemed to have positive effects with Thai residents. The business chapter seems useful for a corporate setting, but I did not find it applicable to my work.Overall, I found that the customs and advice given in this book were accurate, although maybe a little over-exaggerated in regards to their strictness among Thai people and the expectations placed on visitors. Also, the book was published before the King passed away in 2016, so an update is needed. Culture Smart!-Thailand isn't perfect, but I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay long-term or be a more responsible tourist.

The reading offered insight into several things I was hoping to learn prior to try to do business in the Thais corporate environment. Hopefully it will assist me in my objective to do business with several Thai companies.

I really liked this book, even though it wasn’t what I expected. I wanted something that would kickstart my time with God in the morning, and it definitely did that! But it also opened me up to me, who I am in God, and to God. The timing was no coincidence. I’ve pretty much been beaten down professionally/personally for most of the last three years and I’d come to a place of deep regret and sadness. Not knowing where I was going in life, not having any hope. But these devotions have helped reconnect me with a God who is for me, who has a plan, who doesn’t want me to live in yesterdays, but to have hope for today and tomorrow and to trust Him. I can definitely see Him orchestrating my life, and asking more of me in the faith department, and these devotionals have helped so much! I’ll be starting at th beginning and doing them again :)

This is one of the best devotional books I've added to my collection. I begin my day with prayer and a cup of coffee while reading the daily devotional from Jesus and Coffee. Love how the author has interspersed his personal stories throughout each day along with scriptures that lead me to my Bible to read up. Like the many times you re-read the Bible time after time and something suddenly pops off the page that you've missed, so it is with this devotional book. Every day as I re-read them there is always something that pops off the page or hits home with what is happening in my life or around me. You cannot go wrong with adding this inspirational book to your walk with God.

I can definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking to grow in their spiritual walk with GOD. This devotional is one of the best additions to my collections in a long while. I really enjoyed how the author complimented the inspirational and teaching verses with real life stories and practical examples to live by. Even though this was outlined for a day-by-day spiritual journey, I found the passages so helpful that I read through the book in just one day :-). I look forward to meditating on each of these teachings in my daily walk. Thank you Tony Warrick for writing such a gem!

Easy read and the perfect length, tune in for a few minutes if time is limited or research and expand on the days topic if time permits. I loved this little book and hope that Mr. Warrick adds more books like this in the future.

This was one of the best devotional book I had read by far. It's filled with 30 days of pure encouragement. It was so hard not to continue reading the entire book in one day. This tiny book but yet powerful was filled with so many wonderful insights and Mr. Warrick life experiences that it made it relatable. I can't wait for his 2nd book. Only well-informed people can take the steps needed to force our government representatives to change the laws to the side of fairness and transparency.

This is a fascinating and relatively quick read. I was expecting to see much more detail about specific transactions from the tax haven universe, but it turned out to be a memoir of the experience of uncovering a massive series of scandals. If you know nothing about offshore finance, and want an easy introduction, I absolutely recommend this. If you're an expert and want to understand how investigative journalists uncovered the details, it's also very good.

I am reminded of the old saying, "Where there is a will, there is a way." For every law that is passed to curtail the activities of certain types of people, new criminals are established, because with bribes, threats, power and money, these people will find a way to do as they wish. The system, I am sure, has been around in one form or another for hundreds of years. The powerful and rich elite find ways to keep that power and wealth and they do not care who they abuse in the process. This book told us how it is done. Do I think anything will change? Not a chance. But it does help to understand it all. If two college students studying finance and business read the book, one might decide to work against the evil, and the other might decide to learn more about how it is done and join the fun. People are human and greed for money and power will always be with us.

This should be a book that everyone has. Deeply researched and written quickly to make it available for us. The ties to brutal dictators or drug cartels and banks is alarming. If only the average taxpayer could move their money around like the elite do in this book...

Perhaps one of the best short science fiction stories ever written. I have compared this version to two others. One audio version was recorded by Isaac Asimov himself. In that rendition Asimov shows through his own inuendo and vocal tones that the story really was written to appeal to young minds interested in scientific thinking. He adjusts his voice pitch to play various roles, some in a silly way, others in a very serious philosophical way. He does it very playfully though. And if that's how the author imagines his own story to sound, I find this dramatic version very much in line with it. Parts are serious, but the story is a very playful way of forcing everyone to confront reality. Just like people we all know today, the story has characters who dont trust science, or who assume that science can solve problems by sheer smartness, but without using the scientific method of questioning all things. Its very clever, like a Hans Christian Anderson faerie tale, but about physics, the big bang, and evolution, instead of magic kingdoms.I have also heard and seen another version of this story, produced for star shows in planetariums, perhaps made in the late 1970s. The graphics back then were good for the technology and budgets available at that time. But i also seem to recall hearing a radio broadcast of that starshow, but obviously without the visuals.What this tells me is that this is a great story. To really appreciate it, go into a quiet room, turn off all the lights. Remove all distractions, and listen in darkness.Do this, and you may change your thinking habits forever. Is there such a thing as "forever"? Listen to the story...

The music is distracting and overpowers the story. I absolutely love this short story and it would be great if it existed in another audio format. But it is just impossible to listen too this way.

The story is a classic and my favorite Asimov short story, but this production has too much dead air that was probably commercial space left in it. Could be edited to about 30 minutes and be great.
