I rarely write a bad review. I prefer to review those items I buy that meet or exceed my expectations but this cookbook had enough flaws, I felt the need to warn people against it.Let me admit up front I have yet to cook any of the recipes and some of them look quite promising, but just browsing through the book, I saw several errors or typos regarding the number of servings indicated and a lack of adherence to the principals of the ketogenic diet. This left me with great mistrust as to the general accuracy of the book.Example 1: The recipe for Kale and Sausage Soup lists a first ingredient of 2 pounds of smoked sausage, but indicates this is two servings. (Another recipe, for BBQ Sausage, uses 2 pounds of kielbasa sausage and serves 10.) Example 2: Cajun Pork Stew also serves two people, and lists a pound of pork butt. Example 3: The recipe for Sweet Carrot Mash is supposed to be enough for six people, but only uses 1½ carrots, 2 drops of stevia and 1 tablespoon of butter. Example 4: Vietnamese Beef Stew uses one pound of stew meat, and again, lists two servings.According to my own research, a ketogenic diet is high in fat, with moderate protein and minimal carbs. I have seen a suggestion of 5% carbs, 15% protein and 80% fats, and although these are flexible, the amount of fat should always be greater than that of protein, and the amount of protein greater than that of carbs.If accurate, many of the listed macros for the recipes in this “Keto Cookbook” completely ignore these proportions. Example 1: Mushroom & Cauliflower Soup, 2 grams of fat, 6 grams carbs and 18 grams of protein. Example 2: Cajun Variety Jambalaya, 9 grams of fat, 15 grams of carbs and 32 grams of protein. Example 3: Spaghetti Squash & Marinara Chicken, 6 grams of fat, 9 grams of carbs and 10 grams of protein. Example 4: Sea Scallops in Teriyaki Sauce, 6 grams of fat, 26 grams of carbs and 25 grams of protein. Some of the recipes look okay, but there is nothing ketogenic about these examples.I have been so happy with Urvashi Pitre's book, “The Keto Instant Pot Cookbook,” and was hoping to expand my library. I was very disappointed.

I still get my collection of a variety of dishes to hold onto.I am certainly considering picking up one of those pressure pots I found in this book. I love it when a book gives you the reason to try out new ideas. If you love cooking like I do and wish to expand your variety, be sure to pick up this book. You certainly will find one or two dishes that will interest you.

This book could not have come at a better time for me – it was exactly what I needed to help with my nutrition. Adhering to the ketogenic diet is not always the easiest thing to do. It often requires a lot of extra time to deliberating plan, prep, and cook meals and snacks. Even looking for recipes is time-consuming, and often, it is the same recipes over and over. This book provides well over one hundred recipes for not only entrees but snacks and desserts as well. There is more than enough delicious recipes to keep a diet well-rounded and interesting. I have already tried multiple different recipes, and so far, they are all really simple, not to mention very delicious! Overall, this is a great book for any person interested in cooking, nutrition, or looking for a new diet.

I’ve been interested in learning more about in the keto diet since it has started blowing up and everyone knows someone who’s on it and loves it. However, it always seemed like it was so much work with planning, prepping, and changing the way that I eat. I have also just started using an instapot and love the convenience, so the two coupled together seems like a great idea! The recipes look good, although I still feel that I would need to do some more research based on other reviews that not all of them are completely keto-friendly. With school starting back up I’m looking for some quick dinner ideas and will definitely be incorporating these into our weekly menu!

I received this book as a Christmas present and was really excited about it...until I started reading it. This book feels like it was rushed and that the author doesn't really understand the concept of a ketogenic diet, nor the calculation of macros. Several recipes call for sugar as an example, so the attempt wasn't even made to modify the recipe to call for a keto friendly sweetener. Recipe instructions are very simplistic and I observed lots of bad advice as far as using the Instant Pot with certain ingredients as well. I will use the book for recipe ideas but I will have to modify recipes and recalculate macros for better accuracy.
