I have been living and working overseas as a volunteer for most of the last 17 years. This is what I just posted on my Facebook: This is a really good book for anyone wanting to volunteer overseas, especially for teens and young adults, but really for anyone relatively new to volunteering abroad. And for those more experienced who are advising them. Disclaimer: I don't know the authors, just stumbled on the book, and it's not faith-based.
I highly recommend this book to everyone -- whether they are thinking of going abroad or not because the ideas are important for everyone who cares about helping others and doing justice. I purchased this book as a gift for a young person who recently graduated college. One of the authors, Zahara Heckscher was a friend of mine who continues to inspire me everyday.
