About the Author
Since first entering the dental field more than 20 years ago, Dr. Grace Yum has quietly become one of the leading pediatric dentists in Chicago and beyond. She has also become recognized as a thought-leader among dentists nationally. Dr. Yum found her passion for dentistry when she was 18 years old. She first worked as a dental assistant, completed dental school, went on to advanced training in pediatrics at Chicago’s leading children’s hospital, then climbed the ladder to eventually start her own practice, Yummy Dental & Orthodontics for Kids, which now has two offices. Dr. Yum earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, where she studied communications. She earned her D.D.S. from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, the world’s first dental college. As a certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Yum has earned a certification held by less than 5% of all dentists in the United States. Dr. Yum has an active presence on social media where she brings together patients, their parents, other dentists, and working moms. Most recently, she founded Mommy Dentists in Business, a private Facebook group of thousands of dentists in the United States and around the world. These professionals are dedicated to sharing best practices to achieve excellence in dentistry while balancing life and work. A recent recipient of the Top Doctors of America award, Dr. Yum is also a podcaster and host of her own show, Mommy Dentists in Business, which can be found on iTunes. Now, Dr. Grace Yum lives in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood with her husband and their two children.

I love this book! I have read it over and over and I even have marked my favorite passages. Being a mom and a dentist is hard but this book really has great advice and really puts a lot of things into perspective. Definitely looking forward to Dr. Yum’s next book! â¤ï¸
A must read for all mommy dentists who juggle many responsibilities within our families and profession! Dr. Yum truly captivates her audience by her absolute candor which shines in all of her personal accounts throughout her book. With the helpful stories of many other mommy dentists, Dr. Yum speaks to all from new graduates to seasoned owners.
My wife enjoyed reading this book as it made her feel like she was not the only one going through the struggle of being a mom and business owner.
This book is unique in that words cannot describe: women dental professionals face daily challenges between having a family, starting a career and learning about business. This book highlights dental professional women who are smart, strong, inspiring, and hard-working from different backgrounds in different part of the country. There's a very human side of the book highlighting each one's journey with up and downs. This book resonates with most of us who think we are standing alone but really not.
